@HomeDepot20TS I did not like that wretched black and white sharkfin scheme on the side. I love his 1999-2001 scheme it just went well with the Home Depot logo.

I remember how frustrating this day was, but I was shocked at how I kind of took it in stride just like Tony did. I still believed he’d win the title. By midseason I doubted it, obviously it all worked out in the end.

Until the 2011 Daytona 500, that was the last silent Lap 3. Unless you wanna count last year’s Nationwide Race b4 the Coke Zero 400 but the announcers wouldn’t shut up. R.I.P. DALE!!! 3 FOREVER!!!!!

you can say that again, i have said for years hes got the SR curse. ive seen all 11 of the races he has run, and something always happens, crashes, engines, passed going down the back on the last lap ( i was sick for a week after that) ONly thing he hasnt done is run out of gas or hit a seagull.
Also i miss BP and the silent lap 3. Now lets get out there and have good 500 today boys!

Thank you, I have been looking for this race for a long time. Brings back memories. Notice at 0.39 he makes a white mark on the bottom left of the video and it does not go away til 3.09. RIP Benny we miss you.
