ESPN began 2010 Australian Open tennis coverage from Melbourne for the first time in high-definition starting Jan. 17. ESPN2 and ESPN360.com will present first Grand Slam event of 2010 with ESPN2 HD presenting 113 live hours in prime time and ESPN360.com to deliver 600 hours of programming.
ESPN has a startergic alliance with The Tennis Channel to cover Grand Slam events with ESPN televising all the Australian Open coverage for ESPN and The Tennis Channel.

ESPN2′s first year of HD coverage of 2010 Australian Open tennis present three shows every match day live coverage in the evenings, live matches at 3:00 AM and a minimum of three hours of same day action on the next day afternoon at 3:00 PM.

The Spanish language ESPN Network ESPN Deportes will present 56 hours of programming starting January 18 through the finals. The commentators will be Luis Alfredo Alvarez, Eduardo Varela and former professional tennis players Jose Luis Clerc, Javier Frana, and Jimmy Arias.
