In qualifying for that race Bill Elliot made the fastest qualifying lap in nascar history. After that wreck nascar realized those cars were going to fast and nascar made a new car design

Credit to MRN Radio “The Voice of NASCAR” Motor Racing Network Brad Keselowski takes the win as a huge wreck unfolds behind him between turns three and four. Dennis Setzer’s car rides the fence and catches on fire, but he’s able to climb out safely. The accident was triggered when Clint Bowyer tapped Jamie McMurray from behind. Also involved were Justin Allgaier, Scott Wimmer, Brian Scott and Brendan Gaughn.
