Sports are always evolving. Every year the newest and latest versions of sports equipment is coming out. As technology increases, so does the quality of equipment, clothing, and apparel.

Sports clothing is becoming very unique to every sport and even wicks away the sweat that your body creates. Certain types of golf clubs have unique designs and materials to help the ball go farther and more accurately. The advancements are ongoing and exciting. One sport that has also had a lot of innovative advancements is Tennis. Every year racquets are getting better, shoes are more comfortable, and balls are keeping more of their bounce. In this article we will go over just a few of the new advancements that have been brought to tennis by some of the leading innovative companies.

First of all, HEAD has introduced superior technologies to bring in their latest YOUTEK line. They guarantee that this line of equipment will give you individual benefits that will enhance your performance and playing style. These new racquets apparently adapt to each shot that you hit and have an increased head width. This increased width gives you more opportunity to control the spin of the ball, which helps for styles that are more aggressive. Tennis has become an aggressive sport so the technology is finally catching up with the attitude.

This YOUTEK line has two new main models: the Extreme Pro, and the Extreme MP. The Extreme Pro is a heavier, stiffer racquet and gives you extra touch, spin and power on the ball. The Extreme MP adds a very unique balance of weight and quickness to complement the modern tennis player.

Another big advancement is Adidas new training shoe. It is called the CYD reflex and goes for about a hundred bucks in the United States. This shoe is predominantly a training shoe and is not geared for competition. The unique parts to this shoe are that they are made to support sudden movements and quick reflexes. Speedcut is the latest Adidas technology that helps to reduce strain on the front of the foot and helps to support side-to-side movements. This helps players to keep their speed and performance without resulting in injury. It gives arch support and are built tough so that they are not easily scratched. They compare it to being a seat belt for your foot.

Lastly, Dunlop has released a new braiding technology for their racquets. It is 4D braiding which increases overall racquet stability. It helps to increase control and reduce bad tension. This gives players an added sense of touch and feel to their racquets and helps them become more comfortable as they improve their style of play.

Hockey is one of the most popular contact games played in the US and other side of world, probably next only to soccer and rugby. There are more than a few versions of hockey played such as field, inline, rink and ice hockey. All use particular gear and equipment.

The basic apparatus of hockey is a stick, which may be about three feet long. Hockey sticks are round and generally made of wood sheltered with fiberglass; aluminum sticks are also used and both varieties feature suede and rubber grips. Field hockey sticks have hooked bases, which are rounded at one end and flat at the other to correctly smack the ball into the goal. Ice hockey and inline hockey sticks have broader bases and most are considered for right-handed players. Holding hockey stick the upper portion of the stick with your left hand and the lower portion with your right, the base curves forward, forming a shallow scoop for catching and guiding the puck.

In hockey uses a molded plastic ball and ice hockey, inline hockey use hard vulcanized rubber discs called pucks. Both hockey balls are sized according to hockey associations. The objective of any version of hockey is to guide the ball and puck towards the goal net. Goal nets are made of by steel frames and have durable synthetic nylon nets.

Protective equipment and team jerseys are just as important as the skates or footwear, the stick and the puck. Protective hockey equipment is comprised of a chest protector, a helmet, large padded shorts, shin pads, a neck protector, and other gear. Make sure you use all protective equipment whenever you play hockey. Some pick-up games of hockey are not played with protective equipments, but safety should come first.

Hockey is a collision sport and injuries do happen. But with certified, quality, well-fitting gear, the frequency and severity of these injuries can be decreased.

Helmets and Facemasks

Mostly hockey injuries happen to the head and face. Lacerations (cuts) to the head and face, along with concussions, have been minimized by the mandatory wearing of helmets and face masks at most levels of play. In youth, high school, and college hockey, helmets and facemasks are mandatory.

When buying a helmet, make sure it fits snugly. Look for helmets with the seal of approval either from the HECC (Hockey Equipment Certification Council)

Gloves and Elbow Pads

Your gloves must give maximum protection without affecting your grip. The thumb, the palm, and the cuff of the wrist are regularly hit by opposing players’ sticks. Buy gloves with maximum protection over the thumb. Make sure the palm of the glove is smooth, so you can feel the stick in your hand. The cuff of the glove should be elastic but still offer protection. And certain the laces of the gloves are always tied and in good condition, your elbow pads fit well and cover the sides and the back part of the elbow.

Leg Guards

Better leg guards have a knee cup pad, twist padding to cover the sides of the knee, and wide side flaps. Make sure they are not too large and the length is correct.

Blaming your moves, shots and swings for your golf mishits and mishaps? Well, no matter how much time and effort you have been spending over practicing your moves to perfect your game, you still won’t achieve your goal if you use unsuitable or defective types of golf equipment.

Now is high time for you to consider the following golf tips that involve checking on your equipment’s quality.

If you plan to choose used golfclubs as beginner’s tools, scrutinizing before purchasing is a must. The clubheads, the shafts, and the grips are golfclub parts that should pass inspection first before landing a decent spot in your golf equipment cabinet. Another excellent golf tip that will get you through the game is making sure that the set of used golfclubs you’re eyeing have set consistency. It will also help a lot if you check first the price of new clubs vs. used.

A golf tip for a golfer that plans to regrip his clubs: Be cautious. This is because the grips are the only contact points one can access to affect the shot. Before carrying out the regripping, know the core grip of the club and your hands grip size. To determine your core size grip, measure the diameter of the butt of the shaft you’re going to re-grip. The shaft’s diameter should match the grip’s core diameter. In determining your hands grip, the available size grips are regular, mid-size, oversize and jumbo. Use only the best re-gripping materials that will provide optimum performance for your golf clubs.

Another golf tip or advice is that using ill-fitted clubs will be an obstacle to your golf playing success. A golfer must consider his or her body type in choosing the best-fitting equipment to support and deliver his backswings efficiently. Too steep angles in carrying out backswings may be avoided if one selects the perfect fitting equipment available.

Custom golfclub fitting makes a better option than just buying new golf clubs. Getting custom fitting golfclubs is a golf tip that translates to a very worthy investment. The uniqueness of each person is attributed to the need of this way of buying new golf clubs. A custom fitting produces golfclubs that specifically suit the height, strength, swing characteristics and clubhead speed of the golfer.

The type of club shaft also helps in predicting whether you’ll do good in a game or you won’t. There’s a choice between a steel club shaft and a graphite-made club shaft. This golf tip aims to make you realize which type of golfclub shaft will benefit your game. Observations tell that the steel club shafts are more preferred by professional golfers while graphite shafts become more popular with women, senior players and beginners. Steel shafts are less expensive than graphite shafts though.

One more golf tip that could help you is that the golf clubs that must be the main content of your bag must suit your skill level. Since various skill levels need various golf clubs, it won’t be wise to just use or bring a golf club that is just lying around. And, don’t ever forget about the maximum golfclub load your bag is allowed to hold. You can only bring 14 golf clubs in your bag. No more. No less. Aside from your skill level contemplation, your mastery of a certain golfclub and your being comfortable with using it must also be put into consideration in deciding which golfclub to hit.

A good combination of the right moves and good choice of equipment will better arm you to become the best golfer you could ever be.

Boxing is a combat sport in which two people, male or female of similar weight fight each other with their fists. Boxing is supervised by a referee and is normally played in a series of one to three minute rounds. There are three ways to win one way is by knock out meaning the opponent is unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds or if the opponent is considered too injured to continue meaning a Technical Knockout. If there is no stoppage of the fight before the end of the rounds, a winner is decided either by the referee’s decision or by judges’ scorecards.

History

Boxing has been around for many years dating back to the ancient Greek times where it was first seen as a formal sport and this was when a set of rules where designed and tournaments were staged. Boxing was first recognized as a sport round about 688 BC and really evolved in Europe. Boxing is known around the world and many countries have their own fighting sport which is set around boxing but may be named differently and have different rules and regulations. There are numerous different styles of boxing practiced around the world such as French boxing in France, or in Burma with Burmese boxing and in Thailand with Thai boxing.

The Rules

The rules within boxing are taken very seriously and may differ from country to country. The rules in boxing have been designed for the safety of the boxers.

When in the ring boxers are prohibited from hitting below the belt, holding, tripping, pushing, biting, spitting or wrestling their opponent. They are also prohibited from kicking, head-butting, or hitting with any part of the arm other than the knuckles. If a boxer violates these rules then they may be ruled as fouls by the referee, who may issue warnings, deduct points, or disqualify an offending boxer which may cause an automatic loss depending on the seriousness of the foul committed.

Equipment

When participating in this aggressive, forceful sport it is very important for both opponents to have the correct equipment to prevent damage to weak parts of the body. For boxers to participate on tournaments and events they must wear boxing gloves with wrist wraps as the wrist wraps are used to secure the bones in the hand, and the gloves are used to protect the hands from injury, allowing boxers to throw punches with more force. Also boxers must wear a mouth guard to protect the teeth and gums from injury, and to cushion the jaw.

Types of Baseballs Official Major League & Minor League Baseballs are designed to be game day baseballs for MLB or leagues where the MLB guidelines are required. These baseballs are the best quality with the best overall performance. MLB Baseballs are also designed with wood bats in mind. NFHS & NCAA College Baseballs are designed for both high school and college game play where an Aluminum bat might be used. High School and College baseballs are not wound quite as tight as MLB, and they have a little less density too. Youth League Tournament Grade Baseballs: usually have the same quality leather cover as the high school and college baseballs with wool blend windings and a cushioned cork center core. These balls have less density than the high school and college baseballs but are considered high performance for youth league baseballs.

These baseballs are designed with aluminum bats in mind. Youth League Competition, Little League or Game Grade Baseballs usually have the same quality leather cover as the tournament grade baseballs with similar windings and composite cork and rubber or solid rubber center core. These balls have less “pop” than the tournament grade balls and are the most popular youth league baseballs like Little League. This is the standard baseball used by most youth baseball teams. These baseballs are designed with aluminum bats in mind. Practice Baseballs come in both leather and synthetic covers with a variety of windings and cores. Practice baseballs are generally less expensive than game grade baseballs and typically don’t have as much “pop” or as good a cover as a game grade baseball.

Safety baseballs come in a wide variety of covers and performance levels. Safety baseballs are typically for youth players from tee ball up through age 8. They are designed to protect players who are still developing fielding skills. The other surface is soft like a tennis ball. Baseballs are measured in circumference in inches and weight in ounces. They have either leather or synthetic covers that are glued to the windings and stitched together. Leather covers are the traditional choice because they offer the best grip, performance, durability, and shape maintenance. Usually, the more expensive the ball, the higher the grade of the leather, and the better the cover and the process used to bond the cover to the windings. Synthetic covers are usually vinyl and less expensive than leather covers. Synthetic covers vary in texture and grip depending on the quality. The high quality synthetic covers have a grip and feel that is close to leather.

Synthetic covers resist dirt, maintain color well, and do not absorb water. A baseball seam stitch comes in the following forms: Raised seams: grip the air well and offer the most control for developing pitchers. Fielders can also benefit by enabling a better grip on the ball. Standard or rolled seams: are not as pronounced as raised seams. They are sometimes referred to as major league seams because these are the seams used on Major League Baseballs. Standard seams are used by all age levels and can be used in many pitching machines. Flat seams: baseballs are rarely used in game play unless mandated by a specific league. Flat seamed baseballs are ideal for use with pitching machines. Baseball Windings and Cores are traditionally constructed with wool or cotton thread wound tightly around a center core, although, some low end baseballs do not have windings but only have a solid composite cork and rubber center. The windings and core is the key to the performance and durability of a baseball.

Tournament grade and higher baseballs have cushioned cork cores. Cushioned cork cores consist of a cork ball wrapped in a thin layer of premium rubber. Cushioned cork cores are the densest and have the highest performance. Lower quality balls have cores made of either solid rubber or a composite of ground cork and rubber. Wool blend windings are the most common. Wool windings have the highest compression and shape retention characteristics. The higher the quality of the ball generally the greater the percentage of wool used in the windings and the tighter the thread is wound around the core. Higher quality baseballs retain their shape longer and have higher performance.
